OUR THEORY OF CHANGE
For years, many initiatives have aimed to support Moroccan artisans, yet women in the High Atlas still face limited opportunities and resources. Real change doesn’t come from short-term aid or small increases in payment.
At Crafted Morocco, we believe that lasting transformation happens when women artisans gain real skills, fair income, and, above all, the power to lead their own craft economy
MIDDLEMAN MODEL
Products beautifully displayed in Marrakech or Instagram only net artisans less than 4% of what you pay. Oftentimes, this doesn't even cover the cost of the material of of the product.
FAIR TRADE MODEL
Fair trade pays a little better, but not enough to create meaningful sector wide change. The 80% not only represents 80% in lost income, but the real skills in running businesses artisans are never an opportunity to learn.
ARTISAN OWNED MODEL
Through Crafted Morocco, artisans earn what fair-trade organizations traditionally make. Most important, the 20% is all recycled back into the artisan community through training or employment and creating collective power to change the future of craft.

OUR PROCESS
JOINING CRAFTED MOROCCO
All women artisans and cooperatives who create the products they sell are welcome to join Crafted Morocco, provided they share our commitment to authenticity, transparency, and collaboration.
When a cooperative expresses interest in joining, a Crafted Morocco coordinator visits their workshop to ensure that each product is handmade by the artisans themselves.
After this initial visit, new members participate in a two-day training focused on creating their profile, understanding fair pricing, improving photography, and learning the essentials of selling online.
SHIPPING & ORIGIN
All orders ship directly from the women artisans who handcrafted your piece. Your package might come from a mountain village in the High Atlas, a valley rich in colors, or a remote desert cooperative.
Each journey reflects the beauty and diversity of Morocco. All shipments are insured — so you can simply enjoy the story and soul that travel with your order.

Every order is shipped to Crafted Morocco’s artisan-led hub, where experienced women artisans carefully inspect each piece to ensure it meets our quality standards.
Our artisan leaders use a dedicated system to record the results of our six-step quality control process and keep customers informed at every stage.
